Sketch Challenge #31

Here's this week's Sketch Challenge from OWH Stars & Stamps. This is a really nice, simple sketch that could be used for a lot of cards.

I opted to stay in "Fall mode" and used an older StampinUp image stamp, the sentiment is from a clear Hero arts set and the papers are from my stash. I plan to use this sketch again for some simple, masculine cards too.

Mary Margaret & Goldilocks

These adorable images were supplied by Michelle Perkett Studio as part of the OWH Stars & Stamps Midweek Throwdown. I think these are perfect for coloring... detailed enough to make it interesting and fun, but not so overwhelming in detail that I wish I was done half way through the coloring.

I enjoy making kids cards and I think either one of these cuties would be perfect for any little girl. Thanks Michelle for sponsoring this great challenge and for your service too! Be sure to go check out Michelle's great images and to join in on the fun over at OWH Stars & Stamps.

Printed Papers - Midweek Throwdown

This midweek throwdown is right up my alley. It's rare for me to create a card that doesn't include at least some printed paper and I often use more then one. Mixing papers can be a little tricky and my approach is to just makes sure that one of the papers is much more dominant then the other. If you're new to card making or don't feel completely comfortable using printed papers I suggest starting out by combining them with solids (embossed Cuttlebug solids are great with prints) and then move on to replace the solids with tone-on-tone and subtly printed designs.

Though I have lots of rubber stamps that I enjoy using at heart I am really, truly a "paper person" and could be just as happy creating cards with nothing but pretty papers.
