Happy Birthday OWH

It's hard to believe that October is upon us! While some health issues have kept me from participating in the myriad of Birthday Bash challenges this month it's been fun to check in and see all the fun and creativity going on.

Here's a card I created after being inspired by the punch tutorial posted a while back on the OWH Blog. I used my large 2.5" circle punch along with a simple Happy Birthday sentiment stamp. The strings and highlights in the balloons were added free-hand with markers. The balloon tail shapes were also cut free-hand.

I was recently given a Blog Award by Holley Smith at Holley's Hobbies. The talented, sweet and creative Holley is also my Stampin Up Demonstrator. Check out her blog for lots of inspiration. Thanks Holley!

These are a few of my favorite blogs:
Lisa at The Purple Place
Christy at Lone Pine Designs
Louise at Trinity Paper Arts
Cheryl at Don't Worry Be Scrappi
Wendy at A Wandering Crafter
Dixie at What's Next?

I am hoping the month of October finds me feeling better. I look forward to getting back to blog surfing & posting on a more regular basis and of course to creating more cards too!

Challenge Marathon...

Wow, talk about some great challenges! The thought did cross my mind to attempt to do every single challenge presented during September. Maybe I need to distract myself to make that thought go away! LOL I did spend several hours today making cards and miraculously I think I managed to get through all of them.
First, Sandy's adorable Ciara digi stamps. I love this image and decided I'd create a card that would be perfect to write an Any Hero note in for my next shipment to Dixie.

Next, I CASED one of Kate's beautiful cards... the Dahlia Fold. Well...  I kinda "improvised"... and yes it was a little tricky at first but well worth trying and I like the final outcome.

I so enjoyed coloring Sherry's handsome chef. This is a fantastic and FREE digi! If you haven't yet downloaded it... what are you waiting for??? Find it here. Thanks Sherry!

This adorable image is from Pink Gem Designs and perfect for OWH winter cards and using googly eyes! It's available for a limited time so go get it while you can. Thanks to the folks at Pink Gem for taking part in the OWH Birthday Bash.  yes, I know it's a "Robin with Mistletoe" and not a chick but I liked it better in yellow then in red... artistic license. :)

I've been having a lot of fun checking in each day at the Stars & Stamps blog and it's wonderful to see so much talent and creativity being shared for such a great cause.

Let's Party!!!

September has arrived and that means it's Birthday Bash time for OWH! The month of September is a difficult and melancholy one for me for several reasons, not the least of which is the permanent memory of 9/11 seared into my head. I'm looking forward to taking part in as much of the activity at OWH Stars & Stamps as I possibly can. Making cards for OWH is truly rewarding and I often call it my "art therapy".

To start the festivities we have a call for Halloween cards. I don't typically make many Halloween cards but I was lucky enough to snap photos of a couple I included in the box I just shipped off.

I know Halloween is a favorite, fun holiday for many... so go craft away card makers. Just remember to keep the "Happy" in your Halloween designs and get them shipped soon because the deadline is Sept. 20th!
