Happy Birthday Digital Stamp

I spent most of the day busy at card making today. I was determined to get a box full and on it's way to Dixie this week. This is one of the cards I made today. I created the digital stamp in a computer drawing program a while back but never got to printing it out and coloring it. If you'd like to download and use this digi in your cards you can do it here.

I actually colored the graphic after choosing the papers so that I could be sure it coordinated.

Blog Candy Winner...

I first want to say that I think the OWH Spring Blog Hop was a tremendous success. It was filled with inspiration at every stop and I was thrilled to see how many  people signed up. I was stunned to get 102 wonderful comments and really excited that so many of you enjoyed the digis. I hope to make them a more regular part of my blog posts in the future. Anything that keeps everyone excited and crafting is a good thing! Many thanks to all who participated and left such kind comments for me.

Without further ado...  Comment #35 from Marcy at En Papillote Arts is the random winner of my blog candy. Congrats Marcy!

It's OWH Spring Blog Hop Time

Blog Hop day has arrived!! Whether you've found your way here as a visitor or fellow participant welcome! I know there are many stops to make so I will keep my post brief. First, if you haven't started from the beginning of the hop you've missed a lot of great stops so you might want to go back to the top of the hop at the OWH STARS AND STAMPS  blog. To any new card makers who want to send cards to OWH be sure to make a note of holiday deadlines that are posted at OPERATIONWRITEHOME.ORG. The next postmark deadline is  April 1st for any Mother's Day cards, and if like me you aren't sure you can make a specific deadline you can always stick to simple sentiments like "mom" and general themes that could be used at any time of year.

I've created two "Spring" theme cards for today's blog hop. Though I don't draw a lot anymore I make my living as a graphic designer and have drawn since I was a kid. With plenty of time for preparing and planning, I decided I'd draw a couple of "digital stamps" to use in my cards, that I could also give away as part of the blog hop. You can download the tulips and the ewe and feel free to use them in your cards and share them with your cardmaking friends. I've saved them in PNG format which can be inserted and resized in a variety of programs. If you have any problems just drop me a line. The "Miss Ewe" text is included in the image but I think I'll be using this little guy with a "Love Ewe" message at some point too.

Additionally, I have a padded envelope stuffed with the goodies pictured below and ready to mail to a lucky winner. Leave a comment, or email me to be included in the random drawing that I will make on Wednesday, March 24th.

Why do I make cards for OWH? Because of people like Jill Marie who made a recent Facebook post that just happened to call out a card I had made for OWH (the OWH stamp I had made for the backs of my cards includes by first name and state).

I just got a card in the mail today from husband that was made for Operation Write Home. I'd like to thank Paula in CT for such a cute and creative card and for all of you at OWH. Today was a day I didn't get a phone call and I came home from work feeling a bit worn out and lonely. Seeing his handwriting on an envelope amongst the junk mail and bills brightened my day. Thank you so much! You have no idea how much this meant to me.

Being able to use my creativity to Thank You in a small way to our heroes, and their families, by making cards for OWH is truly a blessing. Thanks for hopping over and now off to your next stop...

She's got some really nice cards and it looks like she's a new blogger  so I know she'd enjoy a comment from you!
