Can You Keep Up?

The OWH Stars & Stamps Blog is so chock-full of challenges and inspiration that I can't every seem to keep up!

Here's this week's sketch #54 with the big 3" circle it made it relatively easy to create a focal point too.

These are cards inspired by the MidWeek Throwdown challenge for "Kids Cards". I came across these fun papers (Recollections, Rockets-n-Sprockets) recently when Michael's had their open stock sheets on sale for 50¢. I bought a total of 5 sheets and, with the addition of some small solids from my scrap bin, got a total of 16 cards out of them. Since one of the sheets had the large robot images no stamping was necessary other that the sentiments.

If (like me) you're somewhere bracing once again for a winter storm stay warm and safe.

S&S Sketch Challenge #53

Here's this week's OWH sketch. I've been concentrating on lots of basic themes for my next shipment so I opted for a Thinking of You sentiment. Papers are from my stash and the stamp is from an older Stampin Up set.

MWT: White-On-White

Weekdays don't usually find me crafting much of anything so it's seldom that I participate in the MWT at OWH Stars & Stamps blog but this week's really intrigued me and I actually remembered it in time to give it a try.

I don't think I have ever crafted a white-on-white card before. The embossing folders certainly made short work of it. I actually like it more than I thought I would.

Masculine Cards

Here are a couple of cards I did this past weekend. The ship is a clipart image (this is part of an older set I own but I'm pretty sure this one came from the Dover collection, who by the way, will send you free samples if you sign up at their website). I finally got a chance to use the Stampin Up Square Lattice embossing folder on a colored image. I had seen this being done and just loved it, this effect is wonderful!

This one isn't quite as masculine but that is probably ideal for OWH purposes. Both sentiments are digital and sized specifically to fit punches I own.

Fifty Two & Thirty Four

Since I found myself with some crafting time today I decided I'd do both of this week's sketches. I hope you get a chance to join in on the fun this week.

The top card uses an older, retired Stampin Up set, one of those Two-Step styles that were popular at the time. The papers are from my stash that I am slowly whittling away at. The flower embellishment on the bottom card is a great buy (there are about 10 flowers of various sizes in the pack) from the $1 bins at Michael's.

Spring in January?

I know Spring is a long way off but like many of you I am ready for it now and I think it's starting to show in my color choices.

Digital Sentiment Freebie!

In keeping with some of my New Year's resolutions I am posting again this week and sharing some free digital sentiments that I created. I know that digital scrapping is a big trend these days, and while I have done some digital scrapbook work, and I think it certainly has it's place, I still prefer crafting physically. That said, I make my living as a graphic designer and have all the great graphics programs and high-end digital printers at my disposal so I often to find myself creating digital "elements" that I can use in my cards.

I sized these at about 1.5" so that I could use them with my circle punches and easily frame them in a nice coordinating color. Here they are free for your use. Share them freely (and do consider making some cards for OWH with them) but please no selling them or reposting. (Links to the download are fine!)  You should be able to click on the image and then save it via the 'save image as' command.

I'm going to do my best to offer some interesting stuff here on my blog this year including free digis like these so be sure to check in now and then.
