Shape & Sketch

The title of this post might sound like an intriguing new crafting product but alas it's just two cards.

First is my take on the OWH Sketch challenge. Admittedly it is a 'loose' interpretation buts sometimes you just need to go with the flow. I find cutting smaller pieces difficult so I opted to use my 1.25" square punch. This meant placing them against each other to fit but then I didn't have to fuss with getting all the gaps in between even. This is about as close to clean-and-simple that I get but I liked it enough to make a couple.

Sentiment - StampinUp Retired

Second I have my shaped card that I'm entering in the Our Daily Bread Design (ODBD) Challenge for June. This card was meant to carry a message and prayer to Dee Nixon but I suspect she would be just as happy to know it will go to a hero who will use it to send a heartfelt message to a loved one at home. God Bless you Dee!

Top Note Die from StampinUp • Flower, Leave & Button Die from Sizzix • Sentiment from Stampendous (I think!)

  7. Paula, I love your cards and your blog! You will like the iris folding technique - the hardest part for me was finding a template the right size to cut an opening that fit the patterns, lol.

  8. I think I like the squares better on the sketch card. That rectangle is what's been stumping me. It's definitely a terrific CAS card!! Your shaped card is one of the most clever designs I've ever seen. Gorgeous!
