Anyway they're always a lot of fun and I'm hoping to participate in as many as possible over the next two days. As I've done in the past I'll come back here and add on to this post for the other challenges today.
One of the things I enjoy most about VCMPs is the chance to hunt through old stamps and long held supplies so I will include some sourcing info. but not a exhaustive list. If you see something you like and I haven't identified just ask and if I can I'll tell you what it is and where I got it.
Let's get the Party started!
Papers (Studio G) in the Michael's Bargain Bin - Sentiment Stampin Up (Retired) - Snowflake Punch (Martha Stewart) - Circle Punch (EK Success) |
Challenge #1 - Hosted by Nancy
Create a Christmas/Winter Card using the Supplied Sketch
I usually keep pretty close to the original when using a sketch but in this case I took some (okay, quite a bit) of liberty with it. I flipped it on it's side, pushed the squares off the left edge and added a few that are not on the sketch.
Sentiment (Hero Arts) - Leaf Punch (EK Success) - Leaves & Swirls Jumbo Border (Stampin Up Retired) |
Challenge #2 - Hosted by Diane
Create a card with elements that are represented by the letters O-W-H
What a really fun challenge idea! Let's see for my O - orange, W- woodgrain and H- Hello. I think this might officially be the first fall card I've made this year.
Everyday Elegance Paper & Ribbon (Stampin Up) - Signature Greetings Sentiment (Papertrey Ink) |
Challenge # 3 - Hosted by Seongsook
Triple Die Cutting Technique
Though I considered unpacking my Cameo I decided it would probably be just as easy to do it with a pencil, ruler and cutter. This new variation is definitely a paper saving alternative and would be especially great if you're making a bunch of these.
Elegant Lines EF (Stampin Up) - Lovey Dovey Sentiments (My Favorite Things) - Steel Blue Ink & Fishtail Flag Stax Dies (MFT) - DSP Attic Boutique (Stampin Up) |
Challenge # 4 - Hosted by Annette
Love Themed Card Using OWH Sketch #29
I took a very easy path on this one I admit. Stamp the sentiment and layer it, emboss a background, die cut my flag banner, tie a simple knot bow and assemble it all together and yet I think it might be my favorite so far.
Happy Crafting!
