Moxie Fab Honors Ombre with the Tuesday Trigger

The current Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Challenge is all about Ombre. Though I don't think to use it in my designs often, it seems that Ombre is still pretty hot and trendy and not just in the crafting world. Ombre is defined as 'Having colors or tones that blend  into each other —used especially for fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark'. (A side note to all my Bootcamp Enlistees who are reading — where color schemes are concerned it will fall into either the Monochrome or Analogous categories because to achieve an Ombre effect you're going to use tints, tones and/or shades of one hue or hues next to each other on the color wheel we studied in the ABC's of Color ).

Isn't this Trigger image just beautiful? I used the Marth Stewart Garden Trellis Deep Edger Punch to create my layers, lining each with a thin piece of white computer paper behind the open work to keep them visually separated. The butterflies are the Beautiful Wings Stampin Up/Sizzix Embosslits and the sentiment is from the Hero Arts, Remember Your Kindness set. Something about this card makes me feel it's somewhat 'Victorian' in style. Certainly the typestyles used in the stamp set are partly responsible but also the shades of  purples and pinks, as well as lattice, gardens and butterflies.

Happy Crafting!
