What's Your Favorite Flavor?

Well, I realize now that this card is a day late because today is August 1st and July is National Ice Cream month. But I'm guessing that just maybe you're like me and think every month should be national ice cream month! LOL This sweet (pun intended)  digi is from the Birdie Brown Etsy Shop and was a lot of fun to color.

I guess it could be used for other occasions (maybe without any sentiment or even one that says You're Sweet) but it seemed to fit perfectly with a birthday sentiment. and since I had a scrap piece of that festive, party print on hand I decided that's the way I'd go.  Here's hoping your weekend is sweet too!

Have a Fin-Tastic Day

I'm joining in on the July Freebie Challenge over at Birdie Brown. Torico generously shares fabulous freebies each month and this month it includes two adorable dolphins and this cute sentiment. I think this would be a fun card for a hero to send to send home to a boy or a girl and especially to those kids who live in warm climates and probably get to see dolphins a whole lot more than I do.

If you enjoy coloring you definitely want to check out the Birdie Brown Etsy Shop. I've added several Birdie Brown illustrations to my digi collection and have really enjoyed coloring them. I'll be sharing some more with you soon.

Rockin' Doggie - June Birdie Brown Freebie

If you have yet to check out Birdie Brown, what are you waiting for? Torico has another wonderful freebie for the month of June but you need to hurry over before you miss it. Here's the card I created with this adorable Rockin' Doggie.

Since we're coming up on Independence Day and this Rockin' Doggie will be going into my OWH box I thought I'd deck him out in patriotic red, white and blue. It's hard to perceive in the photo but the small star is actually silver foil and adds a little bit of OWH safe bling. By the way isn't this sentiment graphic great? It's part of the freebie too.

Just Seven Cards

This weekend I made just 7 cards. Let me start by first saying for some that could be a lot of cards but for me it represents a major change. With the exception of special events, like the OWH Virtual Card Making Parties or Blog Hops, I have almost always made cards in multiples of 6. But I've decided that going forward I'm going to switch to making one-of-a-kind designs. I guess you could say that I've not only been working on weeding down my supplies to only the things I really like, I've been rearranging my approach and thinking towards card making too. Don't get me wrong, I am no less dedicated to supplying our heroes with cards to write home on but I've decided that it's equally important to be sure I'm fully enjoying the process.

The first of the seven cards I have to share throughout the week is this one created with an adorable digital image/sentiment set  that Birdie Brown has given away during the month of April as part of a challenge. If you head on over quick you can still join in until April 30th.

Image & Sentiment ~ Birdie Brown
Papers ~ Stampin Up Print Poetry 4x6 Pad
Ribbon ~ Stampin Up
Dies ~ Spellbinders Large Ovals and Labels 22
Prismacolor Art Markers

This ribbon is beautiful but a bit too thick for OWH cards when tied into a bow like this so I'll be using is for the upcoming birthday of a friend who is an avid photographer.
