Both of these Christmas cards were made from papers that had large images on them. Often you will get a few like these in any 12x12 paper pad. They are clearly meant for use as a full page but since I don't scrapbook I usually try to trim those pages in ways that will allow me to use the area that contains the images as a card front.
In both of these cases I added a background layer (or two), a sentiment and a piece of ribbon. There is no stamping other than the sentiments and both cards were simple to do... I let the paper do all of the work for me!
Happy Crafting Everyone!

Great cards! Way to make that paper work! Love the bows! Super nice touch!!!
Paula, I really like these, especially the Santa. I'm often attracted to 12x12 papers, but their scale can be troublesome on a card. You pulled this off really well. I'm impressed!
Lovely use of large image.
These ae both really great! I have lots of 12x12 left over from my scrapbooking days and your cards are an inspiration for me to get them out. I love all the detail in the Santa card! So much to look at. TFS!
Lovely, Paula, and a great way to use up some of your stash (*this is me taking notes*! LOL). :)
I like the way you framed the Santa with the cutout green edge. And the ribbon on the second really draws one's eye to the bird. Very very nice.
I also want to say thank you thank you thank you for the free black and white digis I found here. I didn't leave a comment on them, but I wanted you to know how grateful I am for them. Thank you very much!
love it when the paper does all the work for you.
great cards

Barb these are both fabulous cards, what a great way to utilize the scrapbook papers! I think the old fashioned Santa is my favorite :) Thanks for playing in our Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home!
Paula, these are great. I love that Santa's face. I'd like to pinch his cheeks! I'm going to look through some of my scrapbook papers for large images. I don't seem to be doing a lot of scrapbooking these days. HA!
Both cards are shining examples of what to do with DP that we THINK won't work for cards! These turned out beautifully, and I'm going to look at my DP a little closer from now on!
Gorgeous Christmas cards!
Lovely cards, Paula. I like how simple you kept the layouts so the paper was the star. This is a great way to encourage us to use the large patterns. I usually just hope there's something smaller on the reverse!
Both cards are so lovely Paula! Great use of a large image!
Aren't you smart Paula. Thank you for sharing your digis. I just love the chocolate one.
