OWH Rebel VCMP - National Scrapbook Day

Today is National Scrapbook Day and being the rebels that we are, we OWHers take a little liberty and add our own twist to the occasion by making cards. If this weekend finds you with some crafty time on the schedule be sure to check in over at the OWH Stars & Stamps Blog where there will be  challenges and fun events taking place all weekend long.

The challenge I'm offering up today is to ask you to make

A Kid's card using a Sketch

It can be for a big kid or little, celebrating something specific like a birthday or just a note to say hello. You can find OWH sketches HERE but you can also use a sketch from somewhere else.

I've got two samples to share and to add some extra fun I  decided I'd do a boy and a girl version using the same sketch. I chose OWH Sketch # 28.

Be sure to spell it out (ie. paula at operationwritehome dot org) so you don't wind up  being spammed.

Now find a sketch and share your kid's cards in the InLinkz below.

Cute cards...The patterned paper on the boys card is perfect for the robot image and I LOVE the earrings on the girl card. Thanks for the chance to win.

Great idea to make a boy and a girl card. Every once in awhile I try to remember to do the same. That robot is simply adorable. I just love the blue shadow where he is standing. And the princess is just darling with her pretty pearl earrings. eponinekc at msn dot com

Going to use your sketch to make a card (or two or ten). I love how you can take one sketch and do so much with it.

It took me 2 hours to cleaning (and rearrange) my scrap room so I'm a little late getting starting on today's festivities!!

Love both cards Paula! The colors on the robot card are may favorite! I don't think I have used this particular sketch yet so I am going to give that one a shot even though you didn't specify.

Thank you for all that you do for OWH and for us as card makers with your wonderful teaching. You are appreciated!

Very nice, Paula! I love the way you coordinate your embellishments with the theme in the card. And the way you color your images with a little color at the bottom to "ground" them is perfect (I usually forget or don't do that so well and they end up floating in thin air - ha!). Thank you for being so involved in OWH - you are making a significant difference in more lives than you'll ever be able to measure. :)

What fun cards! I especially love the little robot, but it's the little details on the cards- red brads, pearl earrings- that make both cards absolutely perfect!

Both cards are terrific! I especially love how the strips on the robot card echo colors in the background paper. Well done!

Paula, this is a terrific challenge! I can always use inspiration since I don't do kids cards easily. I like how you used the same sketch for both. The perfection is in your details! Thank you for hosting a great challenge!
