I ordered a couple of Unity Stamps during the first week of OWH Birthday Bash and they arrived in today's mail. I decided I'd ink this one up to create a card for the current Fusion Card Challenge. This time I opted to use the image as my inspiration. Stamping an image on text is actually something I've done before and I love the effect.
The text is a page from an old book I picked up at the used book store at our library. Choosing a book with thicker paper is ideal when you're going to use it for crafting. I look for pages that have solid paragraphs so I don't end up with awkward, trapped white space. The flower is stamped and colored with pencils, without too much concern for adding too much shading since the coloring itself isn't the focus. The sentiment is not part of the Unity set. It's a very old acrylic stamp. It's one of my favorite, most used stamps ever but I sadly have no idea who made it. The center of the flowers are tiny, silver seed beads.
Happy Crafting!

Paula, Your card is lovely. I have been remiss on visiting blogs lately, but just know that whatever you make is beyond stunning. I just love your artwork! I love finding old books at the thrift store and re purposing them...so fun!
That's pretty...I like the effect of the stamp on the print.
Beautiful, Paula...such a lovely design!! The flowers look so nice on the bookprint and the embellishments keep them from blending in too much...love that! And the ribbon is a perfect match! Really pretty...I always love your FUSION creations! So happy you could join us again!
Gorgeous! I really like the image on the text... hmmm. I think we have a library used book sale coming up, I might need to go browse!
Jus beautiful Paula - love your stamping, colouring & design.
Thank you so much for joining in the fun @ FUSION - hoe to see you again soon :)
Very pretty. I've never tried using old book pages, but think I will. Your sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts from their "Thinking of You" set. (It's one of my favorites too.)
Love your card. My stamps arrived today as well. Can't wait to use them.
Gorgeous card! Love everything about it.
