Christmas Poinsettia

Hello Friends and Merry Christmas! Though it's probably a little hard to believe I really don't send many cards and seldom make any for my own personal use. One steadfast exception are the cards I make for my two Aunts each Christmas. I make them the identical cards and thought I'd share this year's design with you today as I wish you and yours a blessed Christmas.

The Story of the  Poinsettia

There is a story told in Mexico that long ago the people flocked to church on Christmas Eve because they loved to fill the Christ child’s manger with flowers. A little boy named Jose was too poor to buy any flowers. The story continues that an angel appeared to him and told him to pick some weeds from the side of the road. Following the instructions, Jose brought the weeds to the church. When he put them in the manger, they changed into beautiful scarlet flowers, which the Mexicans call the “Flor de la Noche Buena,” the Flower of Christmas Eve, that we know as the Poinsettia.

Paula, that is an amazing card! I can almost feel the flower. It reminds me of ironing the stamp onto velvet. Very pretty. And thank you for the note about the top 13 bloghop. I suppose I had better start getting mine ready. Have a wonderful Christmas! Lynn.
