Watercolor Paintings

Hello Friends!

I don't have a card to share today. As a matter of fact it's been a couple of weeks since I last managed to do anything crafty. I can't lie, as much as I really miss crafting I'm finding it hard to balance things. I really need to find a way. At any rate, I mentioned in my last post how much I was enjoying seeing everyone share their 'watercolor' creations and that it inspired me to get out my watercolor pencils to color that sweet Great Impressions image.

I painted watercolors for quite some time. Though I occasionally did pieces as large as 20"x30" the vast majority of my work was much smaller. Mostly I painted as a hobby, but not unlike my card making I soon found myself with a LOT of paintings stacking up and I decided to clean out by selling them. I was actually pleasantly surprised to ultimately sell them all (except for a couple I couldn't part with) and to be able to pocket a several hundred dollars too. Here are a few that I thought I'd share with you.

Nantucket Cottage 8" x 10"
Tulips 12" x 18"
Laundry Day 5" x 7"

Red Striped Awnings 8"x 10"

Sunflower 20" x 30"

I imagine that some day I may lay down my scissors and tape gun and head back to painting watercolors. Interestingly, I firmly believe when/if I do the time I spent crafting and card making will have only made me better since creating is, in my opinion, a never-ending, intertwined road where practice in one area makes you better in others.

Happy Crafting!

These are just beautiful and capitvating. I found myself spending time with each one, looking at the picture, the color, the blend, the moment. I'm just beginner, and your post is inspiring.

I really like looking at these - thanks for sharing. Especially liked Laundry Day. I tell people my stick figures look really dorky and I envy anyone that can do more than that! And there's nothing wrong with *not* creating cards; you'll come back to it if the time is right. From Laura Pervier

Beautiful paintings - especially Laundry Day. I agree the different art forms all connect together when we are creating.
