Art Impressions & OWH Blog Hop

I'm honored and excited to be participating in today's blog hop as Art Impressions teams up with Operation Write Home, introducing 2 fantastic OWH fundraiser stamps sets! Our hop starts over at the Art Impressions Blog in case you need to head back to the start and if you're doing the hop in order you should be coming from What's Next? (Dixie Cochran's blog). Today's hop winds up over on the OWH Stars & Stamps blog but there are still many fun and inspiring stops ahead.
AI Stamp Set ~ OWH Every Hat
Don't you just love all those hats? What a fun image and perfect for OWH. I think a lot of heroes are going to grab for the cards with this image on them. I've colored her with watercolor pencils and while one layer cards are not my typical style all the great detail in this image makes it a good choice for a CAS design.
AI Stamp Set ~ OWH Sending Love
I got a little more elaborate with this card. This cell phone paper, from a DCWV stack called Generation Tech, has been in my stash longer than I care to admit. Don't you just love it when something you've saved finally ends up being just perfect for a specific project?

I stamped the front cup twice so that I could give it some dimension. In person it has a bit of a curve to it and is slightly raised. I have to confess that I slipped as I tried to fussy cut the cord so rather than toss out the entire card  I replaced the cord with some Tim Holtz paper string.

Thanks for stopping by today. Now hop on over to the next stop and see what wonderful creations Karen has to share with you.

Happy Crafting!

Super cards :) I really love the cell phone paper too. Thanks for inspirations!!

Your oops turned into a great idea and if you hadn't "confessed", no one would've known. It just proves the saying: "... mistakes are just opportunities for embellishments." ;)

The first card has a strong focal point and you followed the rules of 3 with your brads. :)

LOVE the second card. Even though the use of string was accidental, it's perfect. It'd be fun to ise this set with different colors of bakers twine.

Paula- your slip on cutting the cord made for a brilliant fix! I love the string! And your many hats gal--love your coloring and your hoarded paper is perfect!

Love the string between the two cups - very clever.

Unknown said...

Love the way you fussy cut the cups on a string for this card. Looks like you used "real" string between the cups. How cute!

Kathryn said...

I really like how the replacement string turned out in the second card. That card will be great for a parent to send home to a teen, and that's surely a category we're always lacking. Thanks for sharing!

WOW- I LOVE the CAS look of the first! It has so much going on the all the colors and depth, you kind of don't notice at first that it is! The second is so cool; I mean, the DP is spot-on and the (oops) black cord is perfect!! (Don't ya just love 'happy accidents??') Thank you so much for your support of OWH!!

Love them both! Fantastic shading on the woman and I love (no pun intended) the twine you spelled out love with. Karen and I had the same idea but didn't end up doing it. Yours came out fantastic. Renee (Art Impressions DT)
