Sending Love By Airmail

This week's Mideweek Throwdown challenge over at the OWH Stars & Stamps blog is 'Cards 4 Kids'. I'd colored up this cute little digi (by the very talented Dustin Pike) recently and decided he'd be perfect for a kids card. I've always enjoyed making kids card for my OWH boxes. Being so far apart from a mom or dad for long periods of time has got to be very tough for the kids and the smile that a card will bring is strong motivation to create.

A little side note on this... the sentiment was printed on white card stock along with the digi but when I went to create the card I felt like it was just too much white so I just colored right over it with an alcohol marker and voilá it looks like it was printed on red paper. You need to be sure your print out is really dry when you do this but I tend to print out my digi stamps in groups, long before I have any real plan to use them so they have days, and sometimes weeks to totally dry.

Happy Crafting!

I haven't tried cards for kids yet, but after seeing this cute little guy I think I'll give it a try. Love your fun card.

Hi Paula! Your card is so darn cute!
I love Dustin Pike's work and the bright, vibrant look to your card is just perfect. I need to get busy with my bootcamp card. Sometimes I have trouble making a "deliberate" card. If my ideas flounder I just abandon them and move on, so some assignments take me a while to get done. I think I need to revisit KISS and quit trying so hard!

Really cute card, love the border punch and the tone/tone background print, both subtile, but adds just a bit of texture and interest. TFS!
