Ladybugs Aren't So Bad

Hello Friends, I hope you're all doing well. I'm trying to get back into the groove of card making and blog posting and maybe even more importantly making time to visit all of your blogs too. 

Today, I've got a card and couple of thoughts to share.

I started coloring this image several days ago. It's a Bugaboo Digital Image (Scene It - Ladybugs) that I've had in my collection for a long time. I'd chosen it as part of a random prize pack I'd won, but never got around to coloring it. I set out to color it with the OWH April Our Daily Bread Designs 'Insects' Challenge in mind. By the way even though there are now 51 entries, which means the 'free shipping' for 2 boxes goal is met, but entering also gives you a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD store. How can you go wrong? If you haven't joined already you still have a couple of days.

As my coloring progressed it quickly got out of hand. (I'm guessing some of you have had this same experience, :) Long story short I wound up adding the background, which I hadn't originally planned to do and I'm not in 'love' with the result. Which leads me to the second thing I want to share... a recent post by the very talented Jennifer McGuire about cards we make that we don't love. If you haven't read it check it out. In a nutshell she makes a great point about how a card we 'don't love' can still serve its purpose. Now don't get me wrong if a card is a total mess I'll toss it without hesitation, but it's worth it to also remember that those cards that might not match up exactly to what you originally envisioned, might really be worth sending after all.
