A Christmas Card & A Wish

Hello Friends!  I did it, I finally made a Christmas card! (Actually I made two identical cards, so that makes it two right? :)  I know for fellow card makers it might be hard to believe that while I've made thousands of cards for OWH I typically send very few cards myself. (Changing that is on my 2015 'to-do list'). The one exception is two cards I make for my aunts each Christmas.  I'm sharing it as my 'virtual card' for all of you.

This is created with a very old, long-retired Stampin Up stamp. The gold heat embossing makes it hard to read in the photo but I love it's timeless message...

May the spirit of Love, The Beauty of Hope
and the Blessings of Peace be your
gift this Christmas Season

The gold border paper is actually created with gold foil gift wrap. Metallic papers are always hard to find and pricey when you do. The trick I've discovered is using a full-page, heavy weight label stock (like this). I peel and stick the entire label down to a piece of the wrap carefully to avoid air pockets and smoothing it out. It adds just enough body to the wrapping paper to make it easy to cut and even dry emboss.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

This is a beautiful card, Paula. I love the sentiment and it must be very elegant in real life. You're ahead of me. I haven't made any Christmas cards this year. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
